Pastor Joe Olachea

Pastor Joe Olachea has been the pastor of Lakes Chapel for over eight years. During this time, he has earned his doctorate at Oxford Graduate School in Dayton, TN, with an emphasis in Discipleship and First Century Jewish Worldview and the Preaching and Praxis of Jesus. Pastor Joe has developed the discipleship ministry at Lakes, which is a unique model that is appropriate for Biblical Christianity and diverts from the corporate philosophy of ministry prevalent in the typical American church today. Pastor Olachea began his career in Charlotte, NC, in 1978, as a junior high Bible teacher and coach at Northside Christian Academy. After five years of teaching, he felt led of God to become a pastor, and has since served for over 25 years in NC, GA, and NJ. Joe earned his Bachelor’s degree at Clearwater Christian College and his Master’s at Liberty University. He has taught seminary courses at the Center for Biblical Studies in the Philippines and at Keswick Institute of Biblical Studies in Whiting, NJ,  and served as President for Central Jersey Bible Institute (1989-2001). He is a writer and seminar speaker and serves as a firefighter and chaplain for Medford Fire Department, Station 2.

Pastor Olachea is married to Kim, an educator, seminar speaker, and small business owner. Kim also serves part time as Joe’s secretary. Joe and Kim have five children, Joe, III, works in southern CA. Their daughter, Leanne and her husband Sam, live in VA, along with their son, Jeremy.  Cherie and Jordan live at home and attend a local community college.
